§01Matching
Get randomly matched for text chat
Random means nobody chose anybody. There is no list to browse, no request to send and nothing to be accepted into. You tap once, the site finds a person who is also free at that second, and a private thread opens between the two of you.
That constraint is the whole appeal. When you cannot pick, you talk to people you would never have picked — different country, different hour of the night, different idea of what is worth staying up for. And when it is not working, one tap deals someone else.
What it is not is a chat room. You are never typing in front of a crowd, and nothing you send is readable by anyone except the person you are matched with.
§02Camera
Chat without turning on your camera
Nothing here asks for a camera. Text is a full mode rather than what you get while the video loads, so you can hold an entire conversation — one minute or one hour — without a camera ever being involved.
That makes it usable in the places people actually are: a train, an office, a room with somebody else in it, a phone with a cracked front camera. It is also simply easier. Typing gives you a second to think, and a lot of people say more that way than they would with a lens pointed at them.

Start without creating an account
There is no registration step in front of a first conversation. No username to invent, no email to confirm, no profile to fill in before the site will let you say hello.
